"Jack, are you awake?" Debbie was banging on his door next morning.

"Wait a minute," he replied, tumbling to the door and pulling it open.

"Jack, you need help quickly,"Debbie started talking as soon as the door was opened. "Lisa thinks you've no good. You don't fit in, and you look like you hate every minute you're at work. It's as if you're afraid to be a girl, even though you're being paid for it."

"Wait a minute," Jack interrupted. "I admit I'm terrified. I don't know how to be the sort of girl they want."

"You need some help quickly." Debbie said. "If you can't convince Lisa you're going to be good, she'll sack you. You haven't much time."

"But what can I do?" Jack asked. "I must earn the money, she can't sack me."

"Okay, are you willing to try something radical?" Debbie Asked.

    "What kind of radical?"

"You need an instant behavior transplant, I told you before." Debbie said. "I spent years learning to be a girl, you don't have an hour to waste. I went to talk to Mystique, the hypnotist who's going to be appearing in the cabaret, and she'll help you, but only if you're willing to let her."

"It's no use, I don't believe in stage hypnotists, I told you before." (But does he really have a choice in the matter? ed.)
