    "Well as it was John who created this problem, maybe he wouldn't mind putting himself out to rectify thins, even if there aren't any jeans or such. He has fairly long hair."

    "Just what are you suggesting?" Caroline asked.

    "Well, it's just a thought but, couldn't he go as a girl?"

    John's face suddenly burned red as he took in what his cousin was suggesting. Surely she was joking.

    "Samantha! What a terrible suggestion," exclaimed Caroline.

    "Not really, he would get away with it. We could style his hair a bit more femininely and with some makeup... You would do it so that Mom could go to the show, wouldn't you, John? She was really looking forward to it."

    Samantha had firmly placed John on the spot. To say no would be to show ungratefulness to his Aunt Caroline for taking him in and providing him with a home; it would mean her missing a show that she really wanted to see, one that she had postponed seeing until he went down there to see it with them.
