    It didn’t take long before he was back with an apron and cap for me. “You going to give me any trouble?” She growled, twisting my earlobe some more.

    “Oh no Miss Margaret!” I assured her.

    “Right then, get your apron and cap on!”

    Once I did, she had me adjust the cap a little bit then instructed me to follow her. I certainly wasn’t going to argue. Must admit to feeling embarrassment as Nancy, Pearl, and James saw my humiliation as I followed behind a still-angry Margaret back to the bathroom. I think they did a poor job of stifling grins at the sight of me, subserviently following a maid – my own apron skirts swishing as I walked.

    “Now then!” she said, pointing to a cupboard under the sink. “There’s all the necessary stuff in there. Now clean that bowl – the sink – and the shower! Call me when you’ve finished! That clear?”
