Stephanie was shivering with fear as she entered the ballroom. She was sure that everybody would notice that she was a boy and not a girl. But nothing happened. She was accepted as one of the girls. She had been to the ball once before as a boy and he had learned to dance as a boy, but this time someone would come up and ask her to dance, and she had to dance like a girl. She didn't know how to do that was sure she would fall dead on the floor if that happened.

It took a while before a boy came up to her and asked her to dance. The other girls had been on the floor several times already. And it wasn't a nobody that came p to her; it was Stephan's friend, Heinrich, son of the duke and heir to the throne. That made her even more nervous, he had to see through her; they knew each other too well.
